Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Coach, Sambo Coach


Born in Italy and raised in Switzerland, Riccardo started Judo at the age of 5, at 14 he was introduced to Sambo and at 17 he became Swiss champion. One year later he began fighting and competing in MMA. He has had the opportunity to train alongside the likes of Igor Yakimov, UFC 6 Tournament Champion Oleg Taktarov and David Rudman.
At the age of 20, Riccardo, moved to Russia where he trained at the University of Moscow. During his time there he was introduced to the Combat-Sambo World Team where he was able to train with multiple time Pride Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko. 
Riccardo then moved to Canada, 4 years later, and began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Toronto BJJ and was able to meet and learn from Professors Saulo Ribeiro, Xande Ribeiro and Royler Gracie.
Today Riccardo is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training at Balance MMA, a Carlson Gracie BJJ Academy. He is learning, teaching and improving every day.

Career Highlights

With 7 years experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Combat Sambo, Riccardo has competed in 11 different countries.


  • Swiss Sambo Champion
  • 2nd Place – Moscow Combat Sambo Championship
  • 4th Place – Combat Sambo World Championship


  • Gold – 2010 Abu Dhabi Trials (blue belt).
